It's not just a decorative plant, though. You can actually eat it and it's delicious! When popped, the kernels make these cute little morsels that are perfect for snacking. But you can also parch them or grind them into meal for cooking. The plants are sturdy and can reach up to 9 feet tall with lots of little side shoots. And get this - it was bred by our friend Carl Barnes who spent his life collecting and preserving historic varieties. How cool is that?!
