Cubaris sp. "Crabby Nguyen" Isopods are one of the largest and most impressive Cubaris species available in the hobby. Native to Vietnam, these remarkable isopods are famous for their massive size, broad armored body, and rich golden-orange to pumpkin coloration that gives them an unmistakable appearance. Their thick, rounded exoskeleton and wide stance have earned them the nickname "Crabby," while their impressive adult size sets them apart from nearly every other Cubaris species in captivity. Despite their intimidating appearance, they are peaceful, slow-moving isopods that spend much of their time exploring beneath cork bark, leaf litter, and decaying hardwood before emerging during the evening hours. Their combination of giant size, vibrant coloration, and unique personality has quickly made them a favorite among serious collectors.

Cubaris sp. Crabby Nguyen thrive in warm, humid tropical enclosures with a deep, organic substrate rich in decomposing hardwood, leaf litter, sphagnum moss, and natural hiding places. A well-maintained moisture gradient is essential, allowing one side of the enclosure to remain consistently damp while providing slightly drier areas for balance. Like many premium Cubaris, they benefit from regular calcium supplementation and a protein-rich diet alongside their staple foods of decaying leaves and rotting wood. Although they take some time to establish, healthy colonies reproduce reliably and produce surprisingly large mancae compared to most other species. Their giant size, captivating orange coloration, and rewarding husbandry make Crabby Nguyen Isopods an exceptional centerpiece for advanced keepers and collectors seeking one of the most spectacular tropical isopods available.

All Cultures are started with 6 isopods of mixed life stages.
