A dwarf succulent native to desert areas in southern Namibia and South Africa's Northern Cape Province that forms a cluster of pairs of thick, stumpy, glossy green, semi-transparent leaves and pinkish flowers. In cultivation it does best in drier, warm temperate climates. Conophytum are adapted to sparse winter rains and are dormant in summer.
