Live Spanish Moss (Tillandsia usneoides) – Natural Elegance for Terrariums, Vivariums & Home Décor
Bring a touch of wild, draping beauty to your setup with Live Spanish Moss (Tillandsia usneoides). This iconic air plant is more than just decorative—it's a versatile, living element that adds texture, movement, and a sense of natural realism to terrariums, bioactive enclosures, and botanical displays. Whether you're building a lush frog tank, a moody forest-themed vivarium, or an organic display piece, Spanish moss brings soft, cascading charm that feels straight out of the swampy south.
As a true epiphyte, Spanish moss doesn’t need soil. It absorbs water and nutrients through its delicate, silvery strands, making it perfect for mounting on branches, cork bark, or hanging from canopy structures. It thrives in high humidity and bright, indirect light, and only needs regular misting to stay healthy. That makes it an easy-care favorite for both hobbyists and professional keepers alike.
Spanish moss isn’t just beautiful—it’s also functional. In bioactive setups, it creates microhabitats for isopods, springtails, and small reptiles or amphibians to hide, rest, or forage in. It also helps regulate humidity levels and supports naturalistic enclosure design by breaking up visual lines and softening hardscape materials.
We ship generous portions of fresh, live Spanish moss, harvested and prepped with care. It arrives ready to use—no rinsing or rehydrating required. Whether you’re creating a rainforest canopy, adding realism to your vivarium, or crafting a botanical display, this natural air plant brings timeless elegance and wild charm to any environment.
